Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve (Matt. 4.10). This is the principal duty of man. God alone is worthy to be worshipped. But this prerogative of God is fiercely contested in the universe. Satan tries to rob God of His worship, and man is tempted to worship anything other than God himself. The Lord Jesus came into this world to restore worship to God. He declared: "the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth: for such doth the Father seek to be his worshippers" (John 4.23). As the redeemed children of God, we now have the privilege of being true worshippers. It is therefore imperative for us to know what worship is and how we should worship. This missing jewel must be recovered in the Church.
